A Week Visiting Schools and Programs.

Renee Goldberg and Jim McDaniel just returned from a week visiting schools and programs in Oregon and Idaho. They met with program directors, clinical staff, other staff and students. They learned more about the curricula and specialized methods. They were able to eat meals with some students, see their rooms or dorms and view their classrooms. Some student projects were wonderful.

They met with clients at a couple of the programs, too and learned how those clients had changed and about their future plans.

Renee and Jim were pleased to visit these programs and schools and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. They were given a few books they intend to read from some of the programs.

Renee will see many of the staff at the upcoming IECA conference in Chicago next month. These are some pictures from the trip and a brief description of the programs and schools visited.

The three Bend programs we visited but don’t have pictures from are:
We met with Craig Christiansen, founder and executive director of New Leaf Academy, Bend, OR. We also met with PJ Swan, clinical director and Jennifer Parker, operations director.
We met with Mischa Shriber, office manager and parent coordinator at Second Nature, Cascades in Bend, OR. We also spoke with Michael Griffin, partner and primary therapist and Jon Baker, field director there.
We visited Ohana House in Bend and met with Malia Mullahey, founder and her associate, Ron.
